Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a special education classroom. My students range from kindergarten to 6th grade. Each student has unique needs and abilities. Our focus in the classroom is to help students reach their fullest potential. Many of the students fall within the autism spectrum. Throughout the day they need sensory breaks to help regulate their behaviors. Having a swing readily available helps calm my students when they become upset. Our focus on academics is numbers, alphabet, language (animals/food ). Through the use of puzzles and pretend food, I can reinforce the academic concepts taught.
By donating to this project, you will help my students in having a variety of activities they can engage in to reach their academic goals. The items requested reinforce concepts taught and learned within the classroom.
