Do you remember your favorite center from preschool? Most students love to play pretend in the dramatic play center. This center helps them to learn to interact with other children.
My pre-k students are active, curious, and ready to learn.
They come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. Our pre-k program provides services for students from our neighborhood and many of the surrounding areas. They have different socioeconomic backgrounds and even speak different languages. Although they are very diverse, they all benefit from an interactive, fun classroom.
My Project
In order to build unity and cultural awareness we need to include a variety of dolls in the dramatic play center. As of now, we only have a kitchen and pretend food. When we learn about families, we have no baby dolls to play pretend families.
Baby dolls and a crib would help extend our home center by teaching them to nurture and take care of others.
These babies would help to enrich our family unit and extend the vocabulary that we learn. The baby clothes will allow them to change the babies and work on fine motor skills. Students will also learn about acceptance and cooperation.
