My Project
“Scientists have recently determined that it takes approximately 400 repetitions to create a new synapse in the brain- unless it is done with play, in which case, it takes between 10-20 repetitions.”- Dr. Karyn Purvis. I put this quote into action in my preschool classroom. Learning through play is developmentally appropriate for the students I teach, plus it fosters excellent social-emotional skills!
These learning materials and resources from Lakeshore will help my preschool students enjoy learning new skills!
Each item from my list has been matched to a state core standard for early learning, which will help my students learn the most crucial skills for foundational knowledge while making it fun and engaging along the way! Items such as the Alphabet Rockets and Alphabet Mystery Box will help teach foundational letter knowledge along with letter sounds. The Building Language Lotto will encourage new language and categorization skills, especially in my non-verbal and ELL students. The art supplies will inspire creativity, and self-expression while building confidence, independence and hand-eye coordination, of course, while teaching new colors identification and matching, too!
