Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are four years old and eager to learn about the world around them. They are entering Pre-K, and many of them have never been in a formal school-setting before.

Pre-K should be a fun, positive, and engaging experience for students.

Pre-K is about learning how to navigate the world through hands on exploration. Students learn how to do basic math, gain foundational literacy skills, and how to communicate and work together with their classmates. This is an important year because it sets the tone for the rest of a child's experience in school.

My students deserve to have all the tools that will help them be successful and enjoy learning in my classroom. We would appreciate any support you can give to help ensure that they have a great experience in Pre-K!

My Project

Play-based learning is a developmentally appropriate and engaging way for Pre-K students to establish their foundational literacy and math skills. The magnetic tiles, puzzles, and geoboards will help students improve their fine motor and problem solving skills. The play sand and water beads will support students' sensory development. The math and literacy activities, such as build-a-number houses and alphabet stamps will provide students with the tools to have fun while learning about the functions of letters and numbers in our world.

These materials will make an incredible impact in my students learning by helping them establish a positive understanding of what it means to learn in school.

With these tools, my students will be set up to learn and explore in my Pre-K classroom as I set them up to be successful in Kindergarten and throughout the rest of their experience in school.
