it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my third-grade classroom, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has presented unprecedented challenges for both students and educators alike. The disruptions caused by remote learning, social isolation, and the uncertainty of the situation have taken a toll on the social and emotional well-being of our young learners. To effectively bridge the gap caused by this disruption and ensure their holistic development, we urgently need social-emotional resources. The social-emotional books will give students the knowledge regarding their feelings/emotions to help them choose the specific resources they need to manage those feelings and emotions. The chair in my cart will allow students an alternative space to understand and reflect on their feelings/emotions and figure out their needs. Finally, the floor tiles will give students a chance to redirect their focus. These resources will not only help students cope with their anxieties and emotional struggles but also foster a supportive and empathetic classroom environment, enabling them to regain confidence, focus, and motivation in their academic pursuits.
