This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Over time I have learned that music is a great way for students to learn. Incorporating music into teaching helps cement important concepts in the students' minds and makes content easier to understand and recall.
Music can be incorporated into the classroom in many ways, including setting the tone, teaching vocabulary, and reviewing past learning.
Music can help students learn, develop, and express themselves.
We use music to signal the start or end of a lesson or task. I also play music to create a positive classroom environment. I play songs that are relevant to the lesson. We sing songs and nursery rhymes to help students improve their language and communication skills.
I would like to add a variety of musical instruments to the music we use during whole-group instruction. I believe this would increase student engagement and learning; as well as make the lesson more fun for students. In addition, students would get to try out different types of instruments. Please help us obtain musical instruments for our classroom. Thank you!
