Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These books will be used to support literacy-based therapy for my speech and language impaired students who require specialized individual and small group instruction. As a result of COVID, the students that I serve have missed more school. Thus, their access to individualized and small group instruction has decreased. My project focuses on improving my instruction for these students (preschool-6th grade), as my book list was carefully selected to have diverse themes and language skills that can be targetted. By supporting this project, my speech students will have access to engaging books that will increase their motivation in speech therapy.

I have seen how using quality books that engage students can improve motivation and support increased learning.

This is especially important for the language-impaired students that I support. By supporting my project, the students will have access to top-quality language-rich books for their speech and language therapy.
