Learning Through Life Science

My Students

Have you ever been fascinated by living creatures? My students love being around animals and other loving creatures, what better way to learn about how things grow then with hands-on activities.

My students come from a variety of cultural backgrounds, economic backgrounds and a a range of family living situations.

They attend a school that receives Title 1 funds and almost 95% receive a free lunch or a reduced price for lunch. They are eager to learn and please. They love coming to school and are excited about learning. The majority of the students in my class speak English at school but another language at home.

My Project

Bringing the caterpillars and tadpoles into the classrooms, allows for the students to get an up close encounter on how they change into a different species through metamorphosis. Having the weekly readers will allow me to integrate science into our daily schedule through reading.

Please help support my students learn science with a hands-on encounter that they would not normally get to take part of.

We may just be developing first graders into future scientists.
