Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious, creative thinkers who thrive when learning is hands-on and engaging. I’m requesting LEGO bricks to bring math and science to life in exciting, tangible ways. With LEGOs, students can explore measurement, area and perimeter, ratios, fractions, and even early algebra in math. In science, they’ll model physical systems, build simple machines, and simulate engineering challenges related to forces, motion, and design thinking.

These LEGO sets will be used regularly in classroom stations, group projects, and STEM challenges that make abstract concepts more concrete.

Students will work collaboratively to solve problems, test their ideas, and build their confidence along the way. Whether constructing a scale model, designing a structure with specific criteria, or participating in a math-based challenge, LEGOs will help them connect learning to the real world.

This project will not only increase engagement and understanding, but it will also empower students to become problem-solvers and innovators. Many of my students benefit from tactile learning and need more opportunities to move, create, and think critically. Your support will help make math and science exciting, accessible, and meaningful for every learner in our classroom.
