We want to LEAP into learning! Won't you please help us? We want to take learning into the 21 century with the assistance of fun and exciting technology. Learning through playing is a preschoolers job! Please help us be GREAT at our job.
My students live in a large urban, low social-economic area of a large public school district.
My city and school district have undergone HUGE budget cuts, and EVERY staff person has taken a 10% pay cut. This equates to less or nothing for the students as far as supplies and extras. I teach seventeen 3, 4, & 5 year old children. All of the families I teach live below the federal poverty guidelines. School is a fun, exciting, refreshing place to be for a lot of them because they have so little at home to reinforce much needed academic skills.
Since I teach in a high-need community, I try to use innovative instructional methods and techniques to meet the needs of my extremely diverse student population. My students need 2 Leapsters, and 2 tag reading systems to strengthen and promote strong academic learners. Using hand held electronic gaming systems in my class to help facilitate their learning only makes sense.
Using technology in the classroom is an innovative as well as a fun an educational way to improve a large variety of skills.
The Leap Frog learning resources will improve and have a positive impact in a variety of academic areas such as math skills, science skills, literacy skills, as well as promote positive social skills. These games provide a fun and creative approach to reach children at their level and to strengthen weaker areas. They are learning while having fun, who knew!
