My Students

I work in a low socioeconomic school district where I am my students very first school experience. I teach two age groups, preschool, 3-4 year olds and pre-k, 4-5 year olds. My classrooms are blended preschool rooms where young children with developmental delays are blended with peer models. We were fortunate to move into a brand new building this school year which houses 4 other like classrooms for a total of 120 students in 118 students in the early learning center side of the building.

My early learners are naturally inquisitive creatures that learn best by investigating the world around them.

They are starved for opportunities to learn through experiences, investigation and most importantly through play. We can only do this by providing them with an enriching environment to learn and grow. In our new environment my students are looking for new challenges in which to think and figure out how it all works!

My Project

From birth, young children are naturally curious. Their world is an exciting place filled with new things to explore, and they are filled with wonder, discovery, and an innate yearning to understand the “whys” and “hows” of the way in which the world works. I need to provide them with tools in order for them to investigate those "whys" and "hows"

The Learning Resources Science bundles will be hands-on tools my students will be able to use to children formulate questions, investigate, and then build new understandings, meanings, and knowledge of what we are talking about.

It will help them find out those "whys" and "hows"!

When we provide students with the necessary tools to investigate and experience their learning environment, young children become more actively engaged in their learning, their language skills improve, and they develop more positive social interactions as they grow. By providing my students with these Science Bundles from Learning resources I can harness the natural curiosity of my students, and help them develop critical thinking skills and fuel their natural passion for learning.
