Learning Through Exercise

My students need 4 scooter boards, 4 mini basketballs, 4 teeter poppers, 1 set of jump ropes, 4 frisbees, and 8 wobble chairs.

My Students

My students sit in a classroom that is culturally balanced. My students come from various countries and speak various languages at home. The students in my class come from families that are struggling financially. The students attend a Title I school where funds are limited to purchase things that will enhance their learning outside of a textbook. The students in my class are hands-on learners, and learn better without a pencil in their hands. Many of my students also suffer from attention deficit disorder, in which distraction overrides their learning.

My Project

My students love to be active, they believe if they move while learning their learning will be enhanced and put into memory. Students would like to move and groove while learning in and out of the classroom and possibly build leadership skills.

The students in my class want to be able to focus on the tasks at hand and not have fidgeting bodies while instruction is going on.

They want to have positive engagement in the classroom and on the playground.

Having materials such as wobble chairs, sitting scooters, teeter poppers, frisbees and jump ropes will help them stay focused in the classroom, and active on the playground through leadership and team building skill activities, that will help them in the world around them.
