5th grade is a very exciting and memorable year for students. For most, it is their last year in elementary school. They are beginning to prepare for junior high. 5th graders get to enjoy one last year of having a single teacher and developing a strong classroom community. My class of 5th graders is full of students who are funny, caring, and love to learn.
My students this year love to read!
Every time a new book is introduced to our library, I can hardly get it to the shelf. They devour books, especially graphic novels. It is so exciting to watch my students grow in this way!
My Project
In my classroom, we have a few options for flexible seating. It is nice for my students to be able to have different options when they are working on classwork. Some students prefer traditional seats while others prefer lounge chairs or yoga balls. Having these options will allow my students more freedom in the classroom to work how they feel most comfortable.
The science comics is an amazing tool to engage the students in rich text and graphics while also educating them on important science topics.
I hope to add these to my classroom library to use as teaching material as well as an option for students to check out and enjoy!
