As their teacher, I work hard to maximize every child’s capacity as a learner, and to maintain a kind, happy, positive, and nurturing environment. Our school is part of a caring and supportive community, where parents take an interest in what their children are learning.
My Project
I would like to teach my students to blend colors, notice detail, and create an art piece to be proud of. With watercolors my students could learn basic art techniques. Having watercolor paper would seem a luxury to us. Painting is exciting for children.
Learning to focus, learning to create, and learning to express will serve my students throughout their lives.
Education in the arts helps give children a better understanding of their world.
Art gives the children choice in expression. We can use art to enhance our science, with pictures to go with reports on living and non-living things, and showing evidence of learning about the world's major ecosystems and habitats. We can also use our paints when learning about cultures in social studies, and even making maps of our own communities.
