Help me give my students each a class textbook about the Salish Seas to learn about the indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest and the ecology that supports them while learning about how humans impact the environment.
During the end of the year reflections with my students, it became apparent that kids wanted to learn more about the Indigenous culture and environment that they live in.
This project is to obtain a class set of a textbook “Explore the Salish Seas: A Nature Guide for Kids”.
This textbook will provide us with a reading and science curriculum to start the year as we do not have a prescribed curriculum, and as a leaping off point for the next unit on the Salish people and the human impacts on the environment.
