This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of the smartest little learners in my entire school! They come from different backgrounds; some ride the bus in from far away neighborhoods and some live across the street. We are a blended Special Education and Bilingual classroom within a school that is 90%+ free or reduced-price lunch.

Pre-kindergarten is one of the most important grades in school.

It is the time when students get hooked on education. The best way to hook them is with adapted materials that will allow them to learn in an individualized way.

My Project

My students are learning from home and they need age appropriate materials to make learning fun! Unfortunately, the pandemic took their first, in person learning experience away from them.

My students need individualized materials to help make their first learning experience, even if it is virtual, as hands-on and as fun as possible.

The backpacks are filled with age appropriate and fun materials. The bag includes manipulatives for engaging math lessons. Art supplies for a creative outlet. Books to transform their homes into adventurous places. And writing supplies to engage students in early literacy and writing. A camera phone tracker would be helpful to teach both in-person and virtual students synchronously.
