This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Space in our first-grade classroom is at a premium. We need table that are efficient for first graders and allows us room to for all kinds of cooperative learning without tripping over tables. We try to vary our seating throughout the day: table groups, carpet time, small groups, partners, and independent time.
These tables will allow us to be able to have enough seating for when our class grows and still have room for our carpet area.
Tables allow us to use Keagan strategies for our cooperative learning. Each spot as a specific job for that table and jobs change daily. Smaller tables will mean that we will have more room for extra tables for those students who cannot be around others.
