This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are at the age where they are exploring their environment through their senses. Sensory play supports little ones in their problem solving skills and motor development as they learn about science, math, and their environment.
To make learning basic math and science concepts fun, I would like to provide my students with opportunities to learn through their senses.
The giant number stepping stones will help students understand the concept of balance as they learn their numbers. The sensory mirror balls, and sensory noodles will provide my students with different opportunities to learn about light reflection, weight, size, and quantity. The magnet kit will help students build an early understanding of physics as they learn about force, motion, and magnetism. The ramps will help students learn about force and motion as they build and test different ramps. The House Building Center will help students learn basic engineering concepts as they explore and build with the tiles. The bins will be used to store the sensory materials for easy access.
