Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love that my students are curious, creative, and full of energy for learning. They are eager to explore new languages and cultures, and I am inspired by their excitement when they connect Spanish words to real-life traditions. Each student brings unique perspectives to our classroom, and I love seeing them learn from one another while discovering how people around the world celebrate holidays.

This project will help them experience Spanish in context while exploring global celebrations such as Navidad, Hanukkah, and Chinese New Year.

Each resource will help in the following ways:

Spanish-language holiday books: Students will read authentic texts, build vocabulary, and improve comprehension while learning about traditions in Spanish-speaking countries.

Hanukkah and Chinese New Year kits: Students will explore cultural symbols and engage in hands-on learning, making the celebrations tangible and memorable.

Craft materials and mini piñatas: Students will create decorations and cultural artifacts, practicing fine motor skills and reinforcing vocabulary in Spanish.

World map posters: Students will locate countries where each celebration occurs, connecting geography with language and culture.

LED string lights and classroom decor: These items will create a festive environment that immerses students in the celebrations, making learning fun and memorable.

With these resources, students won’t just learn Spanish words — they’ll experience culture, make connections, and celebrate diversity. Your support will help bring language and culture to life in a way that is engaging, hands-on, and joyful.
