Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach Spanish at a Title I high school in the Los Angeles area. More than 70% of our students qualify for free lunch. My students enjoy learning Spanish through different sources besides the textbook. They enjoy the different technology applications that we use in class.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my student's learning because they will practice their listening skills in Spanish. These short stories with the audio will also help my students improve on their reading skills because they will listen to the story as they read at the same time. This will be very beneficial for them because they will have a visual in front of them as they listen. Even though I teach high school students, the books will be great for them because they are learning Spanish for the first time and they need lower level reading to be able to understand what they are reading and listening to.
