Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students I have the honor of working with are amazing students grade 1st -5th! They have been identified through the Response to Intervention model as requiring more support in the area of mathematics and/or literacy. They are all hard workers who just require a little more support than their peers.
A majority of students in my intervention and special education groups are identified as having learning or emotional disabilities but are working hard to close the learning gap.
The students come from a very humble background, and the school has a 95% free or reduced lunch rate.
These students come in every day ready to learn and give their best effort on every assignment even when it is difficult. They persevere through all their struggles!
My Project
The students in the multi-intensive classroom, which is comprised of a mix of students who have intellectual disabilities, are in need of some basic supplies.
Some of the students are ready to start the toilet training process and we need a variety of underwear to get this process going.
We are anticipating some accidents and will require a variety of sizes and several pairs of underwear to make the toilet training successful.
We are also asking for some laminating sheets to laminate picture cards so the students have visual supports.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
