My Project
I am writing this request for materials for my classroom as a second year public school teacher. I was able to find many things for my classroom after not securing funding for my last project. This project is more concise and specifically about seating and low lighting for the classroom. These items will be able to be used for many years and potentially assist hundreds of students in feeling more comfortable while learning.
I want to give my students a more comfortable environment to learn in because school can be stressful enough already.
I am wanting to get the mirror and lights to create a calmer less sterile atmosphere. Students are having to look at devices many times a day and I would love to be able to give them times where the lights could be lower and come from natural sources. The mirrors will reflect natural light from my windows around the classroom. The lamps will help to provide light in the darker areas where the natural light does not reach well.
The flexible seating means that we will not have to sit at our desks all day long. These floor desks give them a place to sit as well as a work surface. Being able to move their bodies inside of the classroom can help students focus because they are more relaxed from not having to stay rigid in a chair for long periods of time.
