Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Ms. Burgess's class is filled with outgoing and ambitious first graders. They come from all types of different backgrounds, home life, and even different cultures. I have two Hispanic learners and one Chinese learner. Their smile brightens the room and they are always willing to learn with a little extra help. They are very hyperactive and love to move around!

These kids love to run around on the playground, participate in educational games, and even groove to some music while we learn.

For having such amazing kids, we are low on having things within our classroom to help broaden their young minds.

I love my learners and I am trying to give them the best learning experience.

My Project

The materials that I have chosen will help my children learn. Some of my learners move around a lot. In first grade, it is often a challenge to get this age group to stay still for certain amounts of time. These exercise balls with a base will allow my kids that are hyperactive to focus better.

The magnetic letters and letter beads are fun ways for them to practice sight words and spelling words.

They will be able to attach them to the magnetic boards and the beads can be placed in sand for them to search and spell. This will give them a different learning experience for spelling!

Sometimes when a schedule is placed in a classroom, it helps students know what to expect next. Routines are very important in a classroom setting so that the children can learn time management and self-responsibility. That is why I have selected the schedule pocket.

I just want my kids to have fun learning because, in today's time, most children hate learning. Making it fun will broaden the minds of our future.
