Learning Science with Reading!

My students need books to teach and supplement science topics that we are studying in class. These books will reinforce their learning and create motivating and exciting learning experiences.

My Students

I strive to create a classroom where students are eager and excited to learn each morning they walk in the classroom by creating hands-on and engaging activities for these young minds.

I teach second grade at a Title I school to a wonderful group of 20 students.

They are very hardworking and eager to learn new things. These awesome students are so deserving of these wonderful resources! We live in a small, rural town in Utah, and we lack the resources and funding that many places around us have. We don't have the funds to enable our students to obtain these resources. These kids won't have learning experiences that can be created with these books without your help!

My Project

Science is a way to engage and excite students about learning! Unfortunately, we lack materials and resources needed to teach and provide our students with opportunities to learn about science. These books would provide our classroom with some wonderful texts to refer to when learning about bones, simple machines, life cycles, weather and more. These books will engage students in learning about science by providing visuals and exciting information.

I love to incorporate science into the curriculum whenever possible because with our busy schedules it is difficult to make time for it.

With these books, we would be able to integrate science into our regular language arts routine throughout each week. Students won't just be learning about science but their learning will be tied to other core subjects in the language arts core. I love science and the way it excites and engages students. I hope to obtain these magnificent books so I can help my students create a love for science which can increase their love for learning and school.
