This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very special first graders in a high-needs area of a borough in New York City. Most of my students are English Language Learners or children with special needs, eager to learn and discover. Each student is unique in his or her own way and deserves to have the best educational experience possible.

All of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch and unfortunately, my classroom does not always have the supplies we need.

Thank you! Every donation makes a difference in my students' lives. I look forward to creating projects that will make our physical and virtual classrooms a joyful learning environment.

My Project

Students who do the right thing day after day should be rewarded by going to the treasure box. I am requesting your help to keep my students motivated in my classroom. Small rewards or prizes bring such excitement to the eyes of my amazing students.

My students deserve to be rewarded for working hard, and I would like to provide them with opportunities.

I'm requesting support with student incentives, such as Play-Doh, girl bracelets, wind-up toys, and other incentives used to foster positive behavior and learning motivation. Making good choices and being kind to one another is paramount in my classroom. This will help my students learn that they can earn the things they want by doing what they are supposed to do. The student will self-reflect and ask themselves, "Did I use my accountable talk stems, or did I do my best today?" This will create personal challenges for those who make mistakes to create change and foster new behaviors. The ultimate goal for the classroom is to follow classroom rules. The #1 rule is to do their best and show it. We will also use rewards to celebrate all the growth we have made socially and academically. Moreover, the baskets will be used to organize the prizes and make them accessible for my scholars.

This project is important because it would give my students something to look forward to when they are doing the right thing daily. This will highlight those who follow rules, being great citizens, and doing their best. Your generous donation will be treasured in our classroom every day!
