Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a Title I school in Miami Beach. My students are imaginative and inquisitive kids. Most of them come from underprivileged households, mostly non-English speakers. They are passionate about school, they have a great attitude towards learning.
The majority of my students come from low-income homes.
They are a group of bright and unique individuals who are eager to go back to normalcy. My main objective would be for them to be constantly encouraged to know their potentials and strive to always become better. My students are incredibly enthusiastic learners, always excited to use new materials I bring to the classroom.
My Project
I truly believe that we all need art and a creative outlet now more than ever and I love being able to give students that opportunity daily. Project Based Learning gives the students the opportunity to create instead of complete worksheets.
Using a wide variety of art supplies and materials gives students an opportunity to explore and find a medium that speaks to them.
Many of these materials are consumables and therefore we need a lot to sustain the supply.
