My Students

At our Title I school, my students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. I am looking to provide my students with rich and meaningful learning experiences.

My students are resilient, creative, hardworking, and very active.

They like to set goals and help each other achieve them. They love to read. They thrive on lots of positive encouragement. From the minute I pick them up in the morning, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives; however, I can control their experiences while in my classroom.

My Project

Many of my students do not have access to healthy snacks throughout the day. Our morning is very long and many of my students complain that they're hungry after our first recess.

By providing healthy snacks for the students in my class, I hope to eliminate one of the many reasons my students may not be ready to learn.

When kids are hungry, they are struggling with basic needs that are not met. I hope to meet the basic need for food and energy by providing snacks in order to improve academic performance and see positive behaviors from all students.
