I am a second grade teacher at a high-need urban school in Indiana. My school community is comprised of financially struggling families of all races, languages, and religions, and extremely hard-working teachers and staff. As a community we are trying to give all the students attending our school an opportunity for a better future.
One obstacle that stands between many of my students and becoming a successful reader is the area of phonics. They struggle reading new words and common sight words.
This selection of phonics and sight word games will give my students the extra practice they need to become better readers. By practicing these skills in a fun and engaging way, their learning will carryover into their reading.
Your donation will help create 24 readers this year and hundreds more in the years to come. Because of your generosity a new world of reading, literature, and learning will be open for many students.
