Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many of my students don't have the ability to learn online. Many depend on worksheet packets and whatever books they have at home. They come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners.

My students are creative, and very eager about learning.

The majority of my students read below grade level. They would benefit from a variety of classroom resources to help increase their success in our newly established distance remote learning platform. Since April, my students are barely learning at home. School will be closed due to the COVID-19 virus for the rest of the school year. This presents a challenge, as most of my students do not have access to supplies and technology in their homes.

My Project

Distance learning is so different from regular school. I miss my students! And I didn't get to say goodbye. We're all suffering from WAY too much screen time or their lack of! I would like to supply them with some non-screen activities they can do during this time, and over the summer.

I have picked out a few things I think my students would enjoy, including K/1 reading and math workbook, journal notebooks, crayons, pencils, and level readers.

I truly believe my students will enjoy their learning at home.
