3... 2... 1... ACTION! We have been learning about our family histories and the history of our community in New York City. We would like to make a short film to remember and share our journey to discover our past.
My students are intelligent, energetic, and full of life!
They are eager to learn about anything that you teach them. They attend a small public school of about 200 students so we are a close knit group. They are middle school students students that are full of life, talent and ambition. They are constantly talking about new things that they learn at school and willing to learn as much they however they do not have many resources to match their drive for knowledge. There is so much that they need to know about their hometown and community and I am pleased to be able to both teach them learn about where they come from.
My students would like to take pictures and record videos as they are learning about their New York and family history. We have guest speakers and family members that we interview about the past and having the ability to record these conversations would be priceless. A reputable camera with high quality picture taking and recording ability would help us to make a short film that we can really be proud of and keep for a lifetime! Students will learn how to use technology, practice interview skills, and team work as they video blog, take photographs, record guest speakers and edit film together.
This project could have an amazing impact on the lives of my students and their families.
Giving us the opportunity to chronicle our learning would be a priceless gift! My students would be able to make a video that they can share with their school, families and friends and have a wonderful keepsake to pass on to future students and generations!
