My Students
The students in my classroom all have individual needs in the areas of academics, social skills, and emotional regulation/behavior. Each day, they enter the classroom in order to receive further instruction for their individual needs and IEP goals.
My students love to learn and work hard to meet their individual goals.
Our school is in a rural community where 97% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. In order for my students to meet their goals, they need access to materials and resources which are difficult to receive due to limited resources and funding at our school. All of the materials listed will help my students learn and grow towards meeting their goals throughout the school year by providing them with opportunities for movement or to feel more comfortable when learning in the classroom.
My Project
In our classroom, many of the students have trouble sitting still and benefit from movement or breaks throughout the day to allow them to stay focused while learning.
Providing students with flexible seating options will allow them to choose a space to learn that will best fit their individual needs, and allow them to stay focused and engaged in what they are learning.
Many of my students are motivated by choosing where they would like to sit to complete classwork. Access to a standing desks and balance ball seats will give my students options for movement while learning. Clipboards will allow students to sit where they feel most comfortable while working. Balance disks and bouncy chair bands will allow students to fidget or move in their seats, and can easily be used to meet their needs in their general education classes.
Providing my students with flexible seating options will allow them to wobble, move, stand or bounce, and will help meet their sensory or movement needs while learning. Please consider donating to my classroom so that my students can have access to beneficial materials for a successful school year!
