Learning off the Wall

My students need a multimedia projector.

This project is fully funded

I am a special education social studies teacher. My students are in grades 10-12. My school is located in a economically deprived area.

We function with little supplies. Most of the items that are used in classroom is purchased by me for example, colored pencils, markers, construction paper. The students receive very little from home to help with their school projects. The students love to work on hands on projects. This is a good way in which they are able to express themselves and a lot of times it helps them understand or get a clear view of what is being taught.

With a projector I can take my students all over the world. They will be able to "visit" places that they only have dream about. By showing the images "on the wall" it will let them experience other cultures and countries. Most of my students have low reading skills. The projector will provide my students with a visual and verbal aid that will be beneficial for them to understand and comprehend the lesson being taught. The possibilities are endless.

You will make if possible for my students to travel all over the world. Your help will ensure that my students experience varies cultures and life that is lived outside of their neighborhoods. Your help will make it possible for my students to dream. Your help will inspire my students to move outside the box, to college and beyond.
