My Project
As an educator, I am committed to continuous professional growth to better support my students' literacy development. The RICA (Reading Instruction Competence Assessment) course will provide me with a deeper understanding of effective reading instruction strategies, including phonemic awareness, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary development. By strengthening these skills, I will be better prepared to address the diverse literacy needs of my students and ensure they build a strong foundation in reading.
Through this training, I will learn evidence-based instructional techniques that I can immediately apply in my classroom.
I will implement differentiated reading strategies tailored to each student's learning level, helping struggling readers gain confidence while challenging advanced students to further develop their skills. By using engaging, research-backed methods, I aim to create a more inclusive and effective literacy environment that fosters a love for reading.
Beyond my own classroom, this professional development opportunity will have a lasting impact on my students’ literacy growth. By applying the strategies learned in the RICA course, I will create a structured and supportive reading environment that fosters confidence and engagement. My goal is to ensure that every student, regardless of their starting point, develops strong reading skills that will serve them throughout their academic journey and beyond.
