This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Help me understand how letters make words so I can read and write like other kids my age.
Students from 6-11 years old will benefit from this project.
We are a new school in a low socio-economic area. The children come to school everyday to become successful lifelong learners just like children from all over the world. We need to build up our supply of good educational materials to better serve our children in many areas. Because this takes years I am trying to speed up the process with your help.
My Project
Do you remember a time when you couldn't do something and the feeling of frustration that followed? Well using magnetic letters and boards will allow struggling readers and writers materials to learn these skills in a non-threatening way and becoming successful readers and writers. We will use the letters to make words and become comfortable with letters and words. This will be followed by reading with confidence which will lead to increased comprehension. Another positive affect will be gaining the ability to write meaningful stories that are enjoyable to share.
Reading is the key to a lifetime of success.
Let's give all students the necessary materials which will ensure them a chance to learn to read and write. What better gift can we give to a child than to help them become readers and writers at an early age!
