This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are starting a brand new music program, and we are super excited about it! Music helps children develop discipline, motor skills, sensitivity. Music is reading, writing, math, a second language.

These percussion instruments will help smaller students understand the beat and the rhythm.

Everything has a rhythm, just like our body has a heartbeat. That's why we are getting all this basic percussion. Rhythm sticks, egg shakers, drums and triangles can be used to practice rhythm, play rhythm games, learn ensemble music. Boomwhackers are so fun! They can also be used to practice rhythm and beat but they also have a pitch to help us with our singing and listening skills.

We (me and my tiny rock stars) are excited and ready to start learning, making music and hopefully performing together really, really soon!
