Learning Math Through Art

My students need materials such as Laminating pouches, combs, printing paper, gel ink, and rainbow scratch paper to help him/her improve their attitude toward Math to enhanced learning through art.

My Students

As an Educator I want to implement a new approach by incorporating the arts into everyday lessons which will help reach every child in a unique way.

I have 13 boys and 7 girls in my classroom.

They come from poverty stricken neighborhoods. They come from various cultural and economic backgrounds. This offers a great challenge for me as well as for the students. It also offers a great opportunity for people to work together and learn about others and their way of life. My students attend an inner city Title I school that struggles to keep and maintain adequate equipment and resource materials.

My Project

The Laminating pouches, plastic combs, printing paper, gel ink, and rainbow scratch paper will be used to create a Math Journal Book. Our math stories will become alive as we learn math through art. The timer, magnetic numbers, shapes, and math practice book will be used in the Math/Art Center for different activities. These activities will promote leaning and creativity. The Fanny pack will be used for those miss-hasp that should arise during our art inspired lessons. The Lysol wipes will be used to help clean up any messes.

All students are gifted, and teaching math with art gives artistically gifted children a chance to shine.

We want to reach for the stars. Help inspire and educate our children to reach for the stars.
