Seeing the excitement on everyone's faces when they received their prizes reminded us how meaningful even the smallest gifts can be. Our students love receiving these donated resources, and they help make our club activities more engaging, rewarding, and fun! The water bottles also encourage our students to stay hydrated during hands-on STEM activities and club meetings.\r\n\r\nBeyond the fun, these donations help us meet everyday classroom needs and keep our learning environment clean and welcoming. The disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer are especially helpful for cleaning tables, supplies, and shared materials before, during, and after STEM activities. With so many students and families participating in STEM Family Night, having these cleaning supplies available made it easier to maintain a clean environment throughout the event. The pencils, pens, and tissues are also useful resources that support our students throughout the school day. The students loved choosing their colors and designs and were excited to make bracelets for their friends.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate! Students were ready to get started and could not wait to see what they would be able to create. These activities helped turn our classroom into a fun camp-inspired learning environment where students could work together, share, create, and build positive relationships.\r\n\r\nWe are excited to continue our Camp Kindness experience with more hands-on activities that encourage creativity, teamwork, and kindness. We also keep snacks available for students who may need an extra boost during the school day. Sometimes something as simple as having a snack can help a student feel supported, refocus, and make it through the rest of the day ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThe students were excited when they first saw the materials and immediately wanted to know when they could use them. It has been wonderful watching them understand that the resources were provided because people believe in them and want them to succeed.\r\n\r\nWe are not done learning! We will continue using the snacks throughout the school year to encourage positive behavior, support student needs, and keep our students motivated and ready to learn. The Nintendo Switch has definitely given them a BIG reason to think about saving! I love watching them make decisions like, \"I could buy a snack today, or I could keep saving my money.\" They may only be first graders, but they are already learning that every purchase affects their balance.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue building their understanding of saving, spending, budgeting, and making responsible financial decisions throughout the school year. Eventually, one student will save enough classroom money to purchase the Nintendo Switch from our class store and take it home as their very own! Students and families created bracelets, shared kindness, and made new friends. It was beautiful to watch everyone fill each other's buckets and hearts through simple acts of kindness and connection. We also had snow cones that everyone absolutely enjoyed! The lines were extremely long, which showed just how excited everyone was to participate and enjoy the evening.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, this event was about more than STEM activities. It was about building relationships, creating memories, encouraging creativity, and bringing our school community closer together. They have worn them to all their basketball games so far. The cheerleaders were so happy to see the pom poms to help them turn up the games and help cheer on the basketball players. The school section has used them as well to cheer on our basketball team. The snacks have been tremendously wonderful for the students as they came to practice and just needed to snack before we got started. \r\n As the season end, the cheerleaders have learned many cheers and developing leadership skills. They also become a sisterhood amongst each other and have been showing up and supporting each other. They also have showed maturity when in public at the games.
