Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. I have high expectations that my students will grow and achieve beyond the expectations set for them. We study STEM topics such as robotics, engineering, and coding along with our curriculum.
School is a safe and fun place for my students.
They enjoy coming to school and learning through hands-on, engaging activities. For many of my students, school is the highlight of their day.
My Project
I am asking for Math Discovery Cans from Lakeshore Learning to help my students strengthen their knowledge of both 4th and 5th grade math concepts. With these Math Discovery Cans, students will get targeted practice with place value, fractions, decimals, multiplication, division…and so much more! The cans are packed with hands-on manipulatives and 25 step-by-step question cards.
Each skill-building math can includes everything my students need to get focused practice with key math concepts.
As students work through each can, they’ll use a protractor to measure angles, cubes to determine volume, charts to help with place value, and practice multiplication and division facts.
