My Students

I teach in a high poverty school in a Moderate and Severe Disabilities (MSD) self-contained classroom. My students have various disabilities (e.g., autism, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities) that create difficulties in their daily lives. Despite many hardships, my students come to school ready to learn each day.

My students require a lot of educational supports but are capable of so much, and they are working hard each day to find new and creative ways to learn academic standards and daily life skills.

My students love to dance, sing, go outside, and play on the computer.

My Project

This project will allow me to purchase engaging learning materials for my students on teachers pay teachers. Finding learning materials that are adapted and differentiated well for students with autism and other learning difficulties can be a challenging task. However, there are some great special education teacher vendors available on teachers pay teachers.

I would love to be able to purchase some great learning materials that are adapted with visual prompts that address a variety of social skills, life skills, and communication skill needs that my students have.

This project would allow me to do just that and would help me to support not only my students, but other teachers out there at the same time!
