Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The curriculum I use promotes many hands on learning activities, as well as learning through music and movement. These activities happen in various centers I have set up in the room. Appropriate sturdy materials are the key to the children learning and improving their academic and social skills.
I have a class of nine preschool students whose ages range from 3-5 years old.
All of the students have a variety of mild to moderate special needs ranging from developmental delays, speech delays, fine motor delays and emotional/behavioral issues.
They learn so much throughout the year, it's amazing to witness their progress! There is a team of teachers and staff that support their learning - whether it's through gym activities, art activities, fun speech, O.T., P.T. or music activities, a lot of support is in place to help all of my students achieve a variety of goals.
My Project
The wooden play refrigerator and hutch will update and complete the dramatic play kitchen area. With the complete set, the children will have all the materials needed to engage in pretend cooking - everything from pizza to cake! The kitchen is a very popular center, and it truly provides many opportunities for children to strengthen and expand their social and academic skills.
Donations to this project will provide a way for children to strengthen and expand their social and academic skills in a fun and meaningful way.
