Help me give my students fun and engaging activities to help them learn. These hands-on learning tools will help my students become experts in math and reading!
I teach in a public elementary school with students with disabilities ranging from kindergarten to 6th grade. They are all fully included into the general education classroom for their grade. My students are truly amazing, they are always so excited to learn new things with me and we try our best to make their learning as fun as possible. My students are so curious to try new things and really enjoy hands on learning activities. It is the best feeling to see students walk into my classroom with smiling faces and ready to learn.
My Project
All of these fun games and activities will help my students learn in both reading and math. In my classroom, I have created a ton of file folder activities and those have been engaging, but these games will be even more fun to get my students learning. The hands-on math games with manipulatives will give my students the opportunity to work independently and truly enjoy their learning.
I am so excited to see the impact that all of these games will have on my students.
I know they will come into class excited to try new things and learn the standards in an engaging way!
Some ways that these materials will make a difference is building reading comprehension. My students will use the reading cards, sequencing events and reading comprehension wheel to help with literature and informational texts.
Another item in my count is a set of 5 file folder math games. This will help my students with their counting, measurement and shapes in a fun interactive way. File folders are great ways to get students working more independently. Another interactive game that my students can do independently is the magnetic counting maze!
The activities called reading for thinking and making inferences will help my students answer more of the higher level thinking questions.
