This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our classroom is a unique classroom. We have students with different disabilities in our classroom, but they benefit from every general educational resource possible because I make sure of it. The different disabilities are students with Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, and Down Syndrome. These students learn from each other with their social skills and small group instruction.
My students would benefit from a teacher resource called Everyday Counts for second grade.
This resource is for whole group introduction to where we count the days that we are at school and learn time, money, geometrical shapes and much more.
I am looking to build in the minds of my students a passion for math and vocational needs. My students would also benefit from learning how to button, zip, snap, fold clothes, etc.
I am excited for my students as well as myself for this school year.
My Project
My students will learn how to button, zip, snap their own clothes by using the dressing frames.
With the math kit, they will learn the basics of adding, subtracting, counting the days of attendance at school.
They will succeed in their daily routines. These items will help them master their goals in the area of math and vocational.
When the students learn how to complete it themselves, their face lights up with the brightest smile. They know when they have achieved progress, and the greatest thing is that these students never choose to give up. It is going to be an awesome year!
