it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
An easel is an important tool for teaching in kindergarten because it provides lots of opportunities for students to actively engage in learning. We do not have an easel in our current classroom and we need one so much! We will use this easel on a daily basis, multiple times throughout our day: whole group instruction, small group instruction, writing instruction, math centers, morning meetings, and more! With your help, we will have a functional and practical place to display our anchor charts, big books, posters, charts, student work, and more!
My students' favorite part of teaching is when they are engaged in whole group learning experiences.
Students gather on our rug and they participate in learning new concepts and reviewing different concepts. This easel will make their learning much more engaging because I will be able to invite them to the front to write on our easel and point to important things. I love having my students actively participate in the learning.
Unfortunately, we do not have an easel in our classroom. Our classroom's whiteboard is too high for my 5-year-old students to reach, therefore, they can not use the board for active learning. It is so necessary for them actively participate! This Copernicus Kids easel is low enough that any 5-year can reach it. Also, the easel can be moved around to anywhere in the classroom and the little table behind the whiteboard on this easel is low enough for my students to reach any markers or tools for using the easel.
As a class, we would be able to elevate our learning by using an easel! All around, an easel would make our learning experience a memorable one!
