My Students
In our classroom, the children rise to the challenge of meeting and exceeding the rigorous demands of the curriculum. Each day the students strive to become fluent readers, capable writers, and develop a sense of science that provides understanding. Learning is fun, and smiles are abundant in our class!
Since our school is Title I, our goal for each student is for them to become successful scientists and readers in school and life.
A strong foundation will provide the stepping stone they need to excel and have opportunities to succeed. Most of my students live in financially assisted housing and receive free lunch. Although they are poor financially, they are rich in heart! The entire school strives to nurture the students with love and knowledge. High expectations are producing results. Students in our school know that education is the key to becoming productive members of society.
My Project
My students need a microphone and speakers to increase student engagement and improve the sound quality of lessons.
Kindergarten students often are hard to understand in group settings.
Therefore it is hard to keep the rest of the class's attention when they can't hear to stay engaged. I want each of my 20 students to hear me and the other students loud and clear during discussions.
My goal is to keep students engaged and not "tune out." They start talking and playing or engage in misbehavior. This does not have to happen. When students can hear, very clearly, what's being said by the teacher and other students, they are going to stay more engaged with the lesson and with the instructions.
Additionally, a doorbell can be used for students to know when to stop and listen to instructions. This will cut down on lost instruction time trying to gain everyone's attention. This will decrease management issues and improve student learning daily.
