Learning Life Skills

Help me give my students items for our career skills room in order to learn life skills!

My Project

My co-teacher and I built a career skills room that provides our students the opportunity to practice real-world skills.

This room contains several rotations that students get to experience: laundry, post office, grocery store, and bakery.

These stations allow students to practice academic and career-related skills with specific steps for students to follow. Having these stations provides our students with opportunities to practice real-world skills during the school day. Each station has visual directions that students follow in order to complete orders.

The movie theatre snack bar concession stand would provide students with engaging ways to learn to follow visual steps to complete orders, as well as practice making an order and exchanging money for the items. Students would be able to practice filling orders involving popcorn, drinks, hot dogs, candy, and tickets. Students would also be able to use a visual menu to place orders, which increases their ability to interact with our local community.

This would enhance our students' career-related learning!
