My Students
My students are so excited about this year and the fun activities that we have planned. We have a lot of fun, but we also understand that hard work is necessary to learn. In my current class, 16 of 18 students are currently performing below grade level in both math and reading. They struggle with a lot of frustration and I work hard to meet them where they are and provide opportunities for success on a regular basis.
My students really enjoy hands-on, authentic learning.
I try to plan activities that are engaging and help them to learn in a variety of ways. In coming months, we will be introducing counting money and telling time through our math curriculum. These are both valuable life-skills for our students to learn. I am hoping to acquire some hands-on resources to help them master these skills.

Funding for this project will provide hands-on opportunities to learn life skills of counting money and telling time. Gear clocks will help my students to see and feel how minutes and hours are related. By being able to turn the hands on the clock, they will get a better understanding of how clocks and time work. They will use the magnetic money will provide my students with authentic learning experiences, using the the adding, subtracting, and skip-counting they have been learning.
Providing opportunities for authentic learning is important for students to engage and be excited about their work.
These resources will help me to connect the skills they are learning to real-world situations.
