I am requesting a Teacher's Pay Teachers gift card to purchase several functional life skills task cards already made by amazing teachers. My goal is to create task boxes with various cards to help my older students about skills they made need as they get older.
The students I work with have moderate to severe cognitive disabilities, and things like money management, navigating community spaces, understanding personal information, and vocational skills (cleaning, cooking, sorting) do not come easily to them.
Task boxes allow them to practice these skills at school and then generalize them to their everyday lives.
