Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are pre-k students aged from 4 to 5. The school is located in the Bronx. My students love to play at a dramatic play center. They like to pretend playing different roles during the center time. Many of them still need to learn to speak in complete sentences. The centers promote them with language development. They love to come to school and enjoy their learning with their friends and teachers. They would love to share their work with others.
My Project
My students will learn alphabet letter names and sounds through out the school year. I would like to teach the letters through concrete visual support with those alphabet letter sounds materials from Lakeshore. Children will touch the objects and draw pictures that represents each letter. Children will be able to sort the objects and discuss the sounds for each letter. This will provide hands-on experience for my students. This will be fun activity for my students.
I would like to play alphabet song CD music everyday to reinforce the learning.
Some children learn better through music. I have a wonderful alphabet songs that I would like children to listen during their center activity time.
