This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There are 20 amazing 1st grade students in my room that love to learn on the carpet. Right now only 18 can fit on our carpet. This makes some of the kids feel left out. They either sit at a desk close to the carpet or on a circle cushion. When we have circle time in the morning, its hard for everyone to fit, several kids end up sitting on the tile at the edge of the carpet.

The majority of our learning day is on the carpet, it's where students have the most focus, and all 20 of my students deserve a spot on it.

Please help us get a larger rug in our room. In our classroom this year kids are learning better on the carpet. They are more focused, engaged, and feel like a part of the community.
