Welcome to 2nd grade! We are brand new this year from a suburb of Salt Lake City, Utah. Our school was under construction all summer, but has finally opened its doors and allowed us to start school. We are still gathering supplies and resources necessary to teach school this year. My students are kind and thoughtful children who love school and are motivated to learn and succeed.
My 2nd graders are very motivated by multimedia projects, and their technology skills are improving every day.
As a new school, we have limited budgets and resources. We were hoping to get a laptop through DonorsChoose.org to help students stay engaged in learning and to create modern class projects.
One of my goals this year is to help my second grade students improve their technology skills. GF is a STEM school which stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. Your donations will help us get a new laptop, which will contribute to our success as a new STEM school, and help the students learn current technology skills.
My Project
We are requesting a laptop to help us create class projects using the most current technology. We would like to use available programs available with Mac laptops including recording and listening, learning videos and demonstrations, educational games, garage band, video making, etc. Many of my students do not have current technology available to them at home, so having a laptop we can use in class will motivate them to learn and let them see the possibilities of creativity and technology. Having a Mac laptop as a teacher, will help me engage my students and keep their focus.
This project will make a difference in my student's lives!
Many of my students do not have access to computers, yet so much of the curriculum and testing is now done online. Having a laptop in our class will promote creative projects, engaging lessons, organizations, and enjoyment in learning. This will make a big difference in my teaching and in the lives of my students. Thank you!!
